The Seal — what it looks like

Your Stamp. On Every Piece.

The Southern Cross Seal is a certification mark registered with IP Australia. It appears on your product hang tag, your Marketplace listing, and your Digital Product Passport. Every Seal carries a scannable QR code linked to your Registered Provenance Credential — so any buyer, brand, customs officer, or government body can verify your work instantly.

The Seal may only be used by verified practitioners holding a current UPI. Misuse is actionable under the certification mark. The guidelines for correct use are publicly available — download them below.

What the Seal certifies

The Maker. The Process. The Moment.

When a buyer scans the Seal on your piece, they see: who made it, where, from what, by what method — and a verified record that you are receiving a fair return. That is the full hallmark.

The Seal is linked to the Digital Product Passport. From mid-2028, every piece carrying the Seal is automatically compliant for EU export — without additional data collection by you. Register once. CWA transmits your verified chain to every downstream platform automatically.

What every Seal records — the 5 EU data fields

Maker identity — your name, UPI, registered location
Geographic origin — where your work was made
Production method — your discipline and technique
Material content — fibre, material, composition
Chain of custody — every link in your provenance chain

EU ESPR Textiles Delegated Act · mid-2028 compliance deadline

What the Seal gives you

A UPI. A Seal. A Storefront. A Provenance Record. Income.

Here is exactly what happens when you register as a CWA Practitioner Member, get your UPI, and activate your Southern Cross Seal.

Step 1

You get your UPI

Your permanent maker number. SCR-XXXXX. Issued by CWA after independent verification. Yours for life.

Step 2

Your Seal is active

Every piece you register from this point carries the Southern Cross Seal. Scannable QR code. Verified provenance. Permanent record.

Step 3

Your storefront opens

Your verified practitioner storefront on the Southern Cross Marketplace. Listed by category. Visible to buyers, institutions, tourist centres, galleries, and museums.

Step 4

You access commissions

Browse Open Commissions. Submit proposals for paid Cultural Work Commissions. CWA facilitates the match. You never contact the commissioner directly.

Step 5

Your provenance earns royalties

When a brand uses your provenance story commercially, a Provenance Rights Brand Licence is required. Royalties flow automatically back to you along the seven-link chain.

What it looks like in practice

Your Shopfront. Your Listings. Your Product Label.

This is what the Southern Cross Seal enables. Every verified practitioner gets a storefront, a listing standard, and a product label — all with your UPI and Seal embedded. Here is exactly what yours will look like.

Your shopfront

Shopfront Standard

Your verified practitioner storefront on the Southern Cross Marketplace. Your name, UPI, discipline, location, and products — all publicly visible and verifiable. This is what buyers see when they find you.

Listing Standards

How your products are listed — photography standard, title format, provenance description, RPC number. Every listing on the Marketplace meets the same verified standard. Natural light, no filters, three angles minimum.

Your product

Product Label & Digital Product Passport

Every product sold through the Marketplace carries a physical hang tag and a Digital Product Passport — a verifiable record of who made it, where, from what, and when. This is what the buyer takes home with their purchase.
